Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 30, 2026

At Burn, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Burn mobile application and website collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account or sign in with Apple or Google, we receive identifiers and profile information such as your name and email address.

Experiment and Wellness Data: We store the lifestyle experiments, meal entries, daily check-ins, goals, notes, and baseline information that you choose to enter.

Photos: If you use photo meal logging, we process and store the meal photos and thumbnails you submit so the app can analyze and display them.

Purchase Information: We receive subscription status and purchase-history information needed to provide and restore paid features. Apple and Google process payment details; Burn does not receive your full payment-card information.

Usage and Diagnostics: We collect app interactions, device identifiers, crash reports, and performance diagnostics to understand feature usage and improve reliability.

Website Analytics: Only after you select “Allow analytics” on the website, Google Analytics may collect page views, approximate location derived from network information, browser and device details, referral information, and interactions such as Google Play clicks or template downloads. The website does not send your Burn account, wellness, meal, photo, or experiment content to Google Analytics.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and secure your account.
  • To save your logs, provide photo-based meal estimates, and generate experiment summaries.
  • To personalize the experience using the goals, baseline, and entries you provide.
  • To measure app usage, diagnose crashes, and improve performance.
  • With your consent, to understand website usage, content engagement, and interest in downloading Burn.
  • To provide, verify, and restore subscriptions.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to help us operate the app and website. These services may have access to information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf:

  • Google Firebase: For authentication, cloud data and photo storage, analytics, and crash diagnostics.
  • Google Firebase AI: For processing submitted meal photos and experiment context to provide estimates and summaries.
  • RevenueCat: For managing subscription status, entitlements, and purchase restoration.
  • Apple and Google: For sign-in and store purchase processing when you choose those services.

These providers process information on our behalf to deliver their services. Burn does not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

4. Website Analytics and Cookies

The Burn website uses Google Analytics Measurement ID G-E4VQFFZDLP. We use Basic Consent Mode: the Google tag is not loaded and no website analytics data is sent to Google before you choose “Allow analytics.” Declining analytics keeps the tag blocked.

After consent, Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits and sessions. Advertising storage, ad user data, ad personalization, Google Signals, and ad-personalization signals remain disabled by our website configuration.

You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” button shown on the website. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics events from this website and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies set for Burn. You may also clear cookies in your browser.

Google processes Analytics data under its own terms and privacy documentation. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data-collection information.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your account from the Profile screen in the app. When deletion completes, Burn deletes your account profile, experiment records, check-ins, meal records, and uploaded meal images from its active Firebase systems.

If you cannot access the app, request Burn account deletion by email. Send the request from the email address associated with your Burn account so we can verify ownership and complete the deletion.

Limited records may be retained where required for fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or financial reporting. Apple, Google, and other providers may retain records under their own policies.

6. Data Security and Retention

We use access controls and encryption in transit to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We retain account data while your account is active and for only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations.

7. Your Choices

You can choose whether to grant camera or photo-library access, edit or delete individual entries, restore purchases, sign out, or delete your account. You can also manage app permissions in your device settings and use the website’s “Cookie settings” button to grant or withdraw analytics consent.

8. Children

Burn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above.
